Speaking of headlights, I use Realistic Traffic Headlights by Kuba141 to increase the intensity of AI vehicle headlights. There's a Version 2 of this mod but I didn't like it - found it made the nights very bright and short. This mod increases the lighting at night just slightly - enough so that it's noticeably dark but you can see far enough ahead to not need your high beams. I found the default nights incredibly dark so that I was having to leave my high beams on - and constantly getting flashed by oncoming traffic as a result. I also use Brighter night - Brighter Night 1.1, updated for 1.2.5. The mod was made by a former truck driver, who increased the inertia of the trucks so that it actually feels like you're handling a heavy load. Find one that you like - I prefer to use firm, it gives me just the right amount of movement. It comes with three levels of firmness: soft, medium and firm. Instead, I prefer ZwareJongens INERTIA mod 1.2 by VeloW. Using it, I actually bounced off the pavement just going over a speed bump at a ferry terminal (and I wasn't going that fast!). As you increase your speed over 50 kmh, you'll hear the truck joints moving, the wind on your windshield and basically get the sound sensations of driving a heavy truck on the highway.įor truck physics, I found the Realistic Physics mod much too bouncy. If you like enhancing the sound, I'd also recommend the Road Noise Mod. I also use the Air Brake and Turbo sound mod.
